HAIDYN | AUSTIN SENIOR PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER

Haidyn! First of all, let me start by saying I am obsessed with the name Haidyn for a girl. Absolutely love it. This young lady was as kind and enjoyable as she is beautiful. Haidyn, her Mom and I toured campus to get some shots with all of the gorgeous architecture, and then ended up in a field at an abandoned church. It didn’t look like much to the naked eye, but I knew come sunset, it would be magical. Thank goodness my clients trusted me!

Miss Haidyn had all the right wardrobe choices and her hair and makeup were perfection for photos. It also helped that she is super photogenic. I don’t think I took a single “bad” photo of her.

Haidyn is graduating from Hendrickson High School this Spring, and plans to go into nursing, hopefully something to do with babies. So sweet. Haidyn said she really loves school and is sad to see it come to an end… but if she goes into nursing I’m sure there will be a lot more school in her near future. She’s graduating after doing 4 years of cheer, and she also said that she can’t live without her family and dogs.

Best of luck in the future Haidyn! I know you’ll do great things.

AUSTIN SENIOR PORTRAITS | DYLAN

I captured Dylan’s Senior Portraits in and around the South Congress area in Austin, TX in May 2020. In the middle of the COVID19 Pandemic. It was and is such a strange time, to be graduating, to be around other people during “quarantine,” to be working, to be taking photographs of someone wearing a mask, because it was part of what was (and still is) happening at the time.

I know Dylan’s family and captured his sister’s Senior Portraits just a few years ago. We even used a few of the same areas for her session. But ultimately these photos have their own unique feel! And I had such a fun time with Dylan and his sweet Mama.

But Dylan’s session was completely different. The entire feel. Staying far away from people, having limited options for the shoot, and also… he happens to look SO MUCH like his sister! Literally the guy version of her. But it was also fun and different because it felt so nice to be doing something “normal” during such strange times! And I love capturing Senior Portraits for guys! I’m not sure why, but I don’t get to do portraits for as many graduation guys as I do for the ladies. I always love it, and I hope to do more. So if you’re a Senior GUY graduating from High School or College, hit me up!

Here just a few favorites from Dylan’s Senior Portrait session in Austin!

CAITLYN'S SENIOR PORTRAITS | GRADUATING DURING A PANDEMIC

Graduation season is usually full of tradition : caps and gowns, parties and celebrations, ceremonies and maybe even trips or vacations.

Then, 2020 happened. This graduation season was unlike any other as seniors celebrated their milestones amid the COVID-19 pandemic. I felt for these young men and women as they watched so many things they expected to happen simply get cancelled, one after another after another. So many questions they faced during what should be an exciting time, that truly has enough questions all on its own without the country or world, for that matter, being “shut down.”

But this class is strong. I photographed many high school seniors this year, and each of them had such strength and peace about the issue. Yes they were uncertain, yes they were disappointed in missing out on proms and countless other events and celebrations, like being able to walk across the stage for their commencement ceremony. But they all were going with the flow and didn’t seem to let it get to them. I have so much more respect for this class after talking with the seniors who have gone through this unprecedented experience.

Beautiful Caitlyn is just one of those amazing seniors who graduated in the midst of COVID-19. She graduated from Reagan High School and will attend UTSA and study Nursing.

Class of 2020. Keep your head up, this is a unique experience that only you will be able to tell. I know you will tell it well.

THE TEEN YEARS | SIENNA IS 12

The Teen Years series is one of my favorite milestone series to capture. The teen years sessions take place at pivotal moments in your kids lives so you can always remember these special times in a unique and beautiful way. I photograph teens at ages twelve or thirteen, fifteen or sweet sixteen, and then again at 18 years for their senior graduation portraits. This series is the best way to capture their growth over the teen years.

Sienna’s twelve year session was a surprise gift to her Mother, and it was the best present ever. Here are just a few favorites from her teen portrait session in Austin, as we captured her final days as a pre-teen. Thanks Sienna, I can’t wait for our next photoshoot together.

NICOLE'S SENIOR PORTRAITS | AUSTIN SENIOR PHOTOGRAPHER

Lovely Nicole said she never liked pictures of herself. But we changed that around for her. Here are a few beautiful Senior Portraits from her session in Austin, TX before heading off to TCU.
